Rosemary was proud to have been a part of Color Guard for two years and furthermore a captain for one of those two years. Throughout her school years Rosemary has won several academic awards and other awards ranging from perfect attendance to serving the community. Her primary passion is helping people any way she can, and strongly believes that offering your time and a helping hand is one of the most powerful things we as human beings can do. She has volunteered at elementary schools as a tutor where she helps students enhance their math and English skills. For one year, this exceptional young lady was given the opportunity to be the C.E.O. of a non profit organization whose objective is to assist high school and college students in reaching their career goals through our diverse workshops and internship programs as well as getting them more involved with the community.

Lastly, she volunteers at a community center called Meet Each Need with Dignity (MEND) which provides needy families with canned food, medical and vision services, clothes, toys, and more. She stays active in her community by attending charity events anytime she gets the chance and expects to continue to volunteer her time and hopes that she can eventually raise enough money to donate to organizations such as charities and non-profits. Rosemary Lopez is very excited and proud to say that she will be representing the San Fernando Valley in the 2011/2012 Miss California USA pageant! As a well rounded individual, she believes she can represent California very well by being a great role model and setting positive examples for many people, especially young girls. She looks forward to helping raise awareness about community issues such as poverty as well as global issues and to get people more involved with their community. Rosemary acknowledges the fact that she is not perfect; that she is human and therefore she make mistakes which she takes full responsibility for. She knows her values and she respects herself and because of that she finds it easier to stay on track.
