The 12th Hollywood Black Film Festival (HBFF) kicked off with the world premiere of “Note To Self” Thursday, at the Montalban Theater.
The Hollywood Black Film Festival 2012 Opening Night presented a fun-filled night of college flashbacks with the opening night film, “Note to Self.” The film centers around a popular student-athlete (played by Christian Keyes) who embarks on a journey of self-realization while navigating the choppy waters of a love triangle (LeToya Luckett & Eva Marcile). The film included many notable actors and athletes like Brian McKnight, Pat The Rock,Jason Weaver, Valarie Pettiford, Clifton Powell and Sebastian Siegel.
Several of the Hooptainers were a part of the film. Macleem was also the apparel provider for all of the athletic scenes. We even had the opportunity to have the ficticious school in which the main character ) named after us, yes, it was called Macleem University. The Montalban’s lobby was redesigned with several key elements from the film, namely the uniforms the players wore in Macleem University.
Note To Self is available on DVD and direct download. Definitely worth checking out.
